Late Season 2008

Back again after a long break between posts. I've been busier than ever this year with my artwork. I'm developing a partnership with a gift shop up in Narragansett who has been showing original paintings of the Narragansett area and my note cards are selling well up there.

For the past year or so, I've been exploring an expressionistic style of painting. I'll be posting some samples of "my other side" soon. Also, portrait painting is coming back into my repertoire. As always commissions are accepted.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and I'm looking foreward to the white Christmas 2008 they're predicting. We're expecting 6-10" snow today! Merry Christmas

Spring 2008

Some exiting news about the Valley Arts Council. We now have a gallery to showcase the diverse talents of the valley artists, Jewerly, Absrtract, Contemporary, Realism, and the list goes on.

Gallery@37 is located at 37 Elizabeth Street, Derby, CT. Typycal hours are Thursdays 4-8, Fridays 4-8, Saturdays 3-9, and Sundays 3-9. Stop by and see all the art. I've been creating some contemporary, expressionistic art centering around skulls. The gallery is currently showcasing some of this work. Some call it "my dark side" Like everything in life, there's a balance and to me, I currently have a need to let some of the "other side" come out. It's a great freedom to be able to express myself in this way. I'm sure it will be a positive influence in the art you're acustom to see come from me. My serene land and waterscapes and my wildlife art. Please feel free to respond and/or contact me. In closing, it's sure nice to see Spring emerging and all the green color- gotta love it!

About me

I have has always had a deep respect and love for the natural world. Growing up in Connecticut I spent a great deal of my time outside in the woods hiking, fishing and exploring Connecticut's watershed areas. To be able to document these moments is an priviledge and to draw from nature in this fashion fuels a lifetime of inspiration for me.

Early on, capturing peoples likenesses with pastels came to me with relative ease. I began to except commisions drawing/painting portraits of people and dogs. It became apparent that this “natural” ability should be developed further to a professional level. Studying art at The Paier College of Art is where I began to develop the skills which I draw upon today.

I've been painting “en plein air” for a few years now. Painting "en plein air" simply means to paint outside. As I'm sure other painters will attest, this way of painting is as both exhilerating as it is addicting. Just by the nature of painting outside, dealing with the ever changing conditions forces a spontanaity into my paintings. This as a positive force that is also being reflected in my studio work.

Currently excepting commissions. I can be reached at 203.732.3106
